Anita Martin is a research associate in transition at the Institute of German Studies and a research assistant in the SNF project AFIRE. She studied literature and sociology at the University of Konstanz and at Johns Hopkins University and received her PhD from the University of Bern. Her research focuses on German literature from the 17th to the 21st centuries, with particular emphasis on drama and theatre, literature and religion, genre theory, and contemporary popular media. Her recent work examines dramatic fragments and their political implications, while her current project explores forms of diaspora care and periphery poetics in literary journals of German-speaking minorities in Eastern and Western Europe. Within the SNF project AFIRE, she works on the transcription and analysis of often handwritten, dialectal Bohemian and Moravian recipes.
